In May 2024, the Republic of Belarus celebrates the 70th anniversary of its accession to the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO).
On this significant date, the Virtual Center for the Activities of International Organizations presents the project "UNESCO and Belarus: stages of fruitful cooperation".
UNESCO is an important partner of Belarus in solving problems in the socio-cultural sphere, as well as a unique platform for promoting achievements in culture, science, education and information technology, promoting foreign policy initiatives of the state and developing mutually beneficial bilateral contacts.
The project reflects the entire 70-year history of cooperation between our Republic and the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO).
The organization of the project materials is based on the principle of longrid, which assumes a deep immersion of the user into the topic. Text materials, literature lists, illustrations, photo galleries, and chronological lists of events are combined into a single complex.
The project consists of 10 sections, each of which contains textual and visual information on the topic, as well as literature lists, including books, dissertations, articles from journals and collections, periodicals, electronic resources, audio and video documents from the NLB funds indicating storage ciphers, as well as hyperlinks to full texts of documents.
There is an introductory article for each section that reveals the main activities within the framework of this topic. The articles are accompanied by visual information – illustrations, photographs from the library archive, digital copies of the covers of the most interesting publications, as well as chronological lists of conferences held in Belarus with the participation of UNESCO and lists of implemented projects (time coverage from the 1990s to the present).
The project can be useful to students, teachers, researchers in the field of international law and international relations, as well as anyone interested in the activities of international organizations and foreign policy issues of the Republic of Belarus.
We invite readers and virtual users to the page of the Virtual Center on Activities of International Organizations.
The material was provided by the service department with official documents.
