Lyudmila Vasilyevna Oleychik is a veteran of the National Library of Belarus, who devoted almost 50 years of his professional life to the institution.

She was born in the village of Mokrany, Kopylsky district, Minsk region. In 1960, she entered the first grade of Krasnodubrovsky secondary school. Immediately after her graduation in 1971, she started her work at the Minsk Watch Factory.

Lyudmila's library history at the State Library of the BSSR named after V.I. Lenin (now the National Library of Belarus) began in March 1973, when she joined the book storage department as a duster. In the same year, the girl entered the correspondence department of the Library Faculty of the Minsk State Pedagogical Institute named after A.M. Gorky (now the Belarusian State Pedagogical University named after M. Tank), having received the qualification of a librarian and a bibliographer in 1979 as a result of training.

The book-keeping department has become truly dear to Lyudmila Vasilyevna: her entire career path has passed here, and the employees have become a second family for many years. As a librarian, she worked at an operational and time-consuming site for the storage and use of current receipts of mandatory copies of printed works. Having proven herself excellently, since November 1978 she was transferred to the position of a senior librarian.

According to the materials of her personal file, during this period in the sector of the compulsory copy, L.V. Oleychik worked with the "Au" and "M" Foundation. She always fulfilled readers' requests in a high-quality and timely manner, clearly and promptly selected books according to readers' requirements, quickly and freely navigating the book wealth of the department.

An honest and conscientious employee, a knowledgeable specialist, she showed full independence in solving all production issues. The professionalism and full dedication of Lyudmila Vasilyevna served as the basis for her appointment in March 1987 as the head of the sector for the storage and use of a mandatory copy. For the next 27 years, she successfully headed this direction of the book storage department.

"She knows well the work of not only the department, but also the library, erudite and competent in all matters. She is very efficient, demanding both to herself and to her subordinates.She is extremely wise in the selection of personnel [ ... ] is the main consultant for work in automated mode. She enjoys working with young people, teaches them how to work and treats library collections honestly and carefully. It is easy and simple to work with Lyudmila Vasilyevna and in the biggest load. By nature, she is very friendly, straightforward, collected, respectful of both people and work. A good leader", – the materials of the personal file of L.V. Oleychik testify.

Since March 2014, she resigned from her managerial position and worked in the structure of the book storage department until her retirement in 2021.

Lyudmila Vasilyevna has gone through a long and glorious career, giving all of herself to the library, society and the book. For her loyalty to her chosen cause and professional achievements, her photo has been placed on the Honour Board more than once. Many years of conscientious and fruitful work, a significant contribution of L.V. Oleychik to the development of the library's funds, the organization of their preservation and use was awarded in 2007 with the medal "For labour merits", and in 2013 with the Certificate of Honour of the National Library of Belarus.
