On 26 August, within the framework of a visit to the Republic of Belarus the delegation headed by Indian Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs Sanjay Singh visited the National library of Belarus.


Deputy Director for Research Work and Publishing Lyudmila Kiryukhina welcomed the guests at the National Library of Belarus. The excursion to the Library was organized to the members of the delegation. The visitors learned about its activities, information resources, equipment, reading rooms, architectural features and interior design. An excursion continued at the Library’s Observation Platform where the guests had a marvelous view of the capital and its outskirts.

At the Book Museum the guests viewed the collection of rare editions from the collections of the National Library of Belarus.

On May 5, the 205th anniversary of the birth of Stanislaw Moniuszko (1819–1872), the world-famous composer and conductor, our countryman, who made a significant contribution to the formation of Belarusian musical culture, is celebrated. By this date, the National Library of Belarus has updated the already existing virtual project "Stanislaw Moniuszko. Musical romantic from Minsk region", created five years ago, and now replenished with new unique materials.

A new project of the National Library of Belarus is dedicated to the Great Patriotic War – "Reading newspaper lines with your heart. On the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Belarus from the Nazi invaders."
Every week from January to August 2024, the portal of the National Library publishes materials from newspapers of Soviet Belarus in 1944, reflecting the chronicle of news and events of that time.
