On 25 August, a presentation of the book by director of the National Library of Belarus, EdD, Professor R.S. Motulsky “From the Past to the Present. Part I” was held at the gallery “Labyrinth”.
The event was prepared and held by the publishing house “P. Brovka Belarusian Encyclopedia” and the National Library of Belarus.
The edition is dedicated to the origin and the development of librarianship in Belarus within the scope of the national and the all-European history (IX—XX centuries).
In the presentation participated: Belarus First Deputy Minister of Information Lila Ananich; Belarus Deputy Minister of Culture Tadeush Struzhetsky; editor-in-chief of the publishing house “P. Brovka Belarusian Encyclopedia” Larissa Yazykovich; academic secretary of the Humanities division at the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus Aleksandr Kovalyenya; chairman of the National Commission of Belarus for UNESCO Vladimir Schastny; director of the “P. Brovka Belarusian Encyclopedia” Tatiana Belova; editor-in-chief of the publishing house “Litaratura i mastatstva”; writer, journalist Aleksandr Karlyukevich; director of Y. Kolas and Y. Kupala Institute of Language and Literature at the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus Aleksandr Lukashanets; Doctor of Cultural Studies, Professor, head of the cultural studies chair at the Belarusian State University of Culture and Arts Aleksandr Smolik; EdD, Professor, head of the history and theory of information and document communications chair at the Belarusian State University of Culture and Arts Vasily Leonchikov and others.
An exhibition of R.S. Motulsky’s works written and published in different years was held as part of the presentation. There were manuals, monographs, reports for international and scientific and practical conferences, encyclopedias, books, periodicals, and library and information projects published with the participation of R.S. Motulsky as a member of editorial boards.
