On April 22nd–25th, the National Library of Belarus takes part in the XXII International Forum on Telecommunications, Information and Banking Technologies “TIBO”.
The National Library of Belarus will present the Internet portal, the virtual service “Electronic document delivery”, databases “Scientists of Belarus” and “The national database of authority files”, the union electronic catalogue of the corporate cataloging system.
The National Library has prepared a thematic Internet project “The Memory of Flaming Years” timed to the 70th anniversary of the Great Victory. It contains electronic copies of periodicals of 1941–1945, digitized posters, photos, fiction and musical compositions.
Also the exhibition will present an electronic edition “Underground and Partisan Press of Belarus”. CD includes digitized copies of underground and partisan press from the stocks of the National Library of Belarus, the Museum of the Great Patriotic War and the National Archive of the Republic of Belarus.
For the first time, equipment for vinyl records digitizing will be on display.
As part of the exhibition, a presentation of the new electronic resource “Fashion. Style. Beauty” will take place. It contains books, magazines, editions on fine arts, fashion of the XVI–XX centuries of Russia, France, Germany, England, Poland etc.
On April 23rd, from 14.30 to 18.00 at conference hall № 1 of the Football Arena (Minsk, Pobediteley Ave., 20/2), within the bounds of the the XXII IBelarusian congress on information society technologies, a science and practical conference ”The electronic culture” will be held. The event will gather heads and employees of the Ministry of Culture of Belarus, specialists of public and special libraries, museums, theaters and IT companies.
The conference topics:
- cultural institutions: the prospects for 2016–2020;
- projects for the preservation and promotion of historical and cultural heritage in electronic environment for a union information space;
- electronic content and services for cultural institutions on the Web;
- innovation technologies for culture: web-design, 3D-technology, cloud technology;
- virtual exhibitions and excursions;
- professional maintenance of cultural institutions etc.
Participants of the conference will discuss the questions of the current state of libraries, museums, cultural institutions, science and education and will exchange experience in the use of innovation and IT technologies in the sphere of culture.
Projects of the National Library of Belarus presented at the exhibition “TIBO-2015” are designed for a broad audience.
