On April 16th, a solemn cancellation of the block of stamps dedicated to the 525th birth anniversary of Francysk Skaryna took place at the National Library of Belarus within the bounds of the XI International book lectures “Book culture of Belarus of the XІ – early XX centuries”.
Director of the National Library of Belarus Roman Motulsky and first deputy director of Belarusian postal service “Belpochta” Elena Skripchik canceled the marks in the presence of participants of the XI International book lectures, librarians and readers.
Belarusian postal stamps have a distinct national orientation reflecting the basic aspects of the development of our state. These artistic miniatures represent the crucial events in the history and culture of Belarus.
The postal production dedicated to the 525th birth anniversary of Francysk Skaryna will be certainly a nice gift to Belarusian and foreign philatelists and, at the same time, will promote the book culture of Belarus.
