On February 18, at the central site of the National Stand of Belarus, the library presented its projects within the framework of the 18th Minsk International Book Fair.
The event began with a speech by Natalia Barsukova, Chief Bibliographer of the Research Department of Bibliography. She spoke about the creation and history of the monthly bibliographic bulletin "New books: on the pages of the Belarusian press". Over the years of its existence, the manual has gained wide popularity in the libraries of the country, has gained a certain authority outside Belarus, has become one of the famous Belarusian bibliographic publications. For 60 years of its existence, the bulletin has published 720 issues. According to statistics, NLB readers turn to them almost every day.
On the basis of interesting materials, a unique publication "Belarus through the eyes of a bibliographer" was made. It compiles the best newsletter supplements over the past 30 years. The book consists of 32 sections, each of which is a separate thematic block: the history of the emergence of the Belarusian ethnos, the origin of Belarusians, nature and personalities of our country, cultural traditions, folk holidays and rituals, national cuisine, etc.
The head of the information and analytical department, Tatyana Lavrik, continued the rich program. She presented a virtual project dedicated to the 120th anniversary of the birth of Vladimir Dubovka, implemented by the National Library in conjunction with the State Museum of the History of Belarusian Literature, the Belarusian State Archive-Museum of Literature and Art and the magazine "Maladost" within the framework of the virtual project "On the Wave of Time, Throughout the Life". On the pages of the project, you can learn about the life and work of the writer, get acquainted with full-text editions and collections of works, translations, critical articles by modern scientists, look at the personal belongings of the classic.
Tatyana Anatolyevna also mentioned the republican online competition of readers "Oh, Belarus, May Dog Rose". Last year 880 people took part in it! The online performances of the winners of the competition gave the presentation a creative character. A warm atmosphere of the meeting was also created by the performance of Alesya Sivokhina, a member of the jury, director and artistic director of the People's Literary Theater "Live Words".
We hope for your interest in the national book heritage and invite you to the stand of the National Library until February 21 at the administrative complex at 14 Pobediteley Avenue.
