On December 7th the Belarusian State University of Culture and Arts (BSUCA) hosted a round table discussion under the title The facsimile re-creation of the Book Heritage of Francysk Skaryna as a unique achievement of studying about Francysk Skaryna.


The event was attended by famous scientists, professors and employees, undergraduate, graduate, post-graduate, doctoral and university students. During the meeting they were discussing a wide range of problems regarding preparation and implementation of large-scale cultural projects aimed at popularizing the national culture achievements.

During the meeting, the deputy director for research and publishing activities of the National Library of Belarus Alexander Susha made a keynote speech. He not only presented the results of the five-year work on the preparation of the facsimile edition, but also shared his experience in implementing similar projects in the sphere of culture.

A presentation and a solemn transfer of the facsimile edition of the Book Heritage of Francysk Skaryna to the BSUCA’s library took place during the round table.

The international scientific and publishing project on the restoration of the Book Heritage of the Belarusian first printer, implemented by the National Library of Belarus and BelVEB Bank, was completed in the year of the 500th anniversary of Belarusian book-printing and it is the culmination of anniversary events in Belarus and abroad.
