On November 25 at the art gallery Labyrinth of the National Library of Belarus took place the presentation of Vladimir Korotkevich’s book “King Stakh's Wild Hunt”.
Before celebrating the 80th birthday of Belarusian classic writer Vladimir Korotkevich, the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Belarus in cooperation with the Belarusian Fund of Culture and the National Library of Belarus have presented a new edition of the famous and adored by readers Vladimir Korotkevich’s story “King Stakh's Wild Hunt”.
The book is published in 3 thousand copies in four languages – Belarusian, Russian, Ukrainian and English. The presentation edition of the story “King Stakh's Wild Hunt” has become an original printed monument to Vladimir Korotkevich. Each copy of the book is to be distributed to all libraries of Belarus.
In the event participated: Minister of Culture of the Republic of Belarus Pavel Latushko; director of the National Library of Belarus Roman Motulsky; chairman of the Belarusian Fund of Culture Vladimir Gilep; literary critic and chairman of the Public Supervisory Board for Historical and Cultural Heritage Protection at the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Belarus Anatoli Butevich; PhD, professor, researcher and friend of Vladimir Korotkevich Adam Maldzis; director of Belarusian Radio foreign broadcast Naum Galperovich; translator of the story into the Ukrainian language Valeri Strelko, and also representatives of Minsk city museums, publishing houses and libraries.
Chairman of the Belarusian Fund of Culture Vladimir Gilep presented to the National Library of Belarus a copy of the book autographed by representatives of the editorial board.
Actress and art director of One Actor’s Belarusian Poetic Theater “Znich” sang a romance based on Vladimir Korotkevich’s lyrical poem.
