Every year, since 2016, employees of the National Library of Belarus take part in a conference organized by the Yaroslav the Wise Centralized System of Children's Libraries (Yaroslavl, Russian Federation).
This year it took place on February 28-29 in Mogilev, and the co-organizer was the Management Company "Centralized System of State Public Libraries of Mogilev".
The conference was attended by employees of libraries, museums, archives, representatives of the clergy, university and secondary education, travel agencies, local historians, writers.
The first day of the work was devoted to the historical and local history topics. Liucia.G. Tupchiyenko-Kadyrova, Candidate of Historical Sciences, Chief bibliographer of the Information and Analytical Department, spoke at the conference in an online format. In her report "The Opera of Y. Meitus "Yaroslav the Wise": a review of sources," she presented archival documents related to the creation and performance of the opera, including claviers from the collection of the National Library of Belarus.
On the second day of the conference, the participants not only highlighted the issues of local history, but also shared practical experience. Liudmila V. Komarovskaya, head of the department of excursion and methodological work, presented a report "Excursion and educational activities of the National Library of Belarus in the year of the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Belarus." The participants of the conference were very interested in the tour-quest "Looking for the Francysk Skaryna’s Heritage" and the cycle of excursions "Outstanding people of the Motherland", as well as the possibility of participating in the upcoming photo contest "Flourish, native Belarus!", which will be held on the Observation deck.
