Excursion and Methodological Work Department of the National Library of Belarus invites to the tour-quest “Looking for Francysk Skaryna’s Heritage”.

Here everyone could take an active part, show ingenuity and inventiveness. During the quest, participants will solve puzzles and mind-teasers using the map and the clues hidden in the Library, they will know interesting facts about the life of Francysk Skaryna and the history of our country.

At the end of the excursion, the participants will get a surprise: certificate and tour to observation deck.

Such tours of an unusual format are addressed primarily to children vacationing in summer school camps, as well as to everyone who wants to learn more about the Francysk Skaryna’s hearitage.

Groups are formed by appointment. The group is up to 15 persons. Price: 28 BYN for a group of up to 15 persons.

Minsk, the Capital of My Country

The city of Minsk was first mentioned in The Tale of Bygone Years, relating to the events of 1067. By decree of the Lithuanian Grand Duke Alexander, on March 14, 1499 Minsk, like other big cities, received the Magdeburg Law, and on January 12, 1591 the city was granted its own coat of arms: the image of Our Lady on a blue background between two angels and cherubs.
