The presentation of a series of publications Гісторыя і культура падляшскіх беларусаў took place on April 5 in the Library.


“Books from the presented series at the scientific level present the presence of Belarusians in Podlasie, – stated the deputy director of the National Library of Belarus on scientific and publishing work Alexander Susha. – Belarusians in this region not only preserve their traditions but also develop and mull them over”.

During the presentation, the founder of the Museum of Small Fatherland in Studziwody Dorofey Fionik presented to the National Library of Belarus the last book of the series Айцец Канстанцін Байко. Духаўнік. Настаўнік. Лекар that appeared on January, 2017.

The pro-rector for scientific theological work of the Minsk Theological Seminary and the Academy Alexander Slesarev paid his attention to the presented edition: “The book about Konstantin Boiko is interesting, as a tragic part in the history of Belarusian Orthodoxy is reflected through the events in one priest’s life”.

The chairman of the Minsk Brotherhood in honor of the Vilnian martyrs Anthony, John and Eustathius of the Belarusian Orthodox Church Nikolay Matrunchik called the meeting inspiring: “To survive during globalist processes and with effort of several people to make such great business for Belarusian culture is a heroic deed!”

Leaders and participants of creative bands that have frequently participated in international festivals in Podlasie were among guests. The folk choir n.a. A. Rashchinsky and the Rada band performed folk music with a colorful harmonized music.

The creative meeting was the best evidence that the frontier doesn’t constantly separate! When it comes to culture, the frontier becomes a rewarding soil where a mixture of the best customs and traditions takes place.
