The National Library of Belarus presents a book exhibition "The future belongs to intellectuals” dedicated to to the Day of Belarusian Science (January 27).
As show the world experience and economic research, knowledge is today more important economic force than work and capital. Level of the development of a country, people’s living standard, and national defense depend on the development and implementation of new knowledge and technologies. The Republic of Belarus has everything necessary for the further development and scientific progress. In Belarus exists a powerful educational system. Belarusian universities graduate qualified experts and scientists. At the beginning of November 2007, in Belarus took place the First Congress of Belarusian Scientists. Participants of the Congress considered the development of science and innovative economy in Belarus; reviewed scientific achievements; analyzed the conditions and tendencies of the development of science; appreciated the latest achievements if the field of science, technologies, and education; discussed the issues of science, and developed the strategy of the further innovative development of the country.
At the exhibition are displayed over 100 materials (books, journals, and CD-ROM) dedicated to scientific achievements:
- textbooks and monographs on national innovative policy;
- collected articles, reports, and materials of scientific conferences by students and young scientists; scientific papers by young scientists of Belarusian National Academy of Sciences;
- catalogues of inactive projects by Belarusian National Academy of Sciences and others scientific establishments of the country;
- statistics;
- analytical reports on the modern state and prospect of Belarusian science;
- materials of the First Congress of Belarusian Scientists.
We invite to the exhibition scientists, professors, postgraduates, and students. The exhibition is located in the atrium (second floor).
