From May 2 to July 12, the scientific reading room will host the exhibition "Science and Education of Belarus during the Great Patriotic War", dedicated to Victory Day and the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Belarus from Nazi invaders.

The exhibition presents documents that tell about the activities of higher educational institutions and scientific institutions of Belarus during the years of severe trials, about the education of young people as defenders of the Motherland, about the scientific search of scientists from various fields of knowledge – from agriculture to medicine – in solving tasks necessary for the front, about the damage suffered by Belarusian science during wartime.

A separate part of the exhibition is dedicated to Belarusian scientists and teachers who participated in military operations and the partisan movement, who brought the Great Victory closer with their personal courage and military exploits.

The opening hours of the exhibition corresponds to the library’s opening hours.
Admission is by the library ticket or ticket of the library's social and cultural centre.

The quest tour "The road of the Great Victory"

On May 15, on the International Family Day, the National Library of Belarus was visited by members of the Belarusian Association of parents with many children in the Pervomaisky district of Minsk. They took part in the quest tour "The road of the Great Victory", dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the liberation of the Republic of Belarus from the Nazi invaders.

During the century-long history of the National Library of Belarus, a whole galaxy of highly qualified specialists worked within its walls, through whose efforts the institution has consistently occupied and occupies the main place in the information infrastructure of the republic. One of such important professionals, whose experience has taught more than one generation of librarians, was Iraida Aleksandrovna Korzenko.
