The exhibition of rare handwritten and old-printed books from the fund of the National Library is organized in the Book Museum (347) to the beginning of the Second Belarusian Christmas readings.


The Second Belarusian Christmas readings “1917–2017. Orthodoxy in Belarusian history and culture: century’s results” will take place on December 1–2 in Minsk.

The exhibition in the Book Museum will present for the first time manuscripts of church liturgical content of the 15th century (Menaia, Triodion, Prolog).

Old-printed liturgical books of 17–18th centuries with Christmas engravings: Belarusian editions of Mogilev and Kutein printing houses, books published in Russia and the Ukraine.

We present the updated virtual project "Stanislaw Moniuszko. Musical romantic from Minsk region": on the 205th anniversary of the composer's birth

On May 5, the 205th anniversary of the birth of Stanislaw Moniuszko (1819–1872), the world-famous composer and conductor, our countryman, who made a significant contribution to the formation of Belarusian musical culture, is celebrated. By this date, the National Library of Belarus has updated the already existing virtual project "Stanislaw Moniuszko. Musical romantic from Minsk region", created five years ago, and now replenished with new unique materials.

On April 25, the National Library of Belarus hosted the opening of the exhibition "Dreams about Belarus", dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Liberation of Belarus from Nazi invaders and the 85th anniversary of the birth of People's Artist of Belarus Vasily Sharangovich.
