From March 17th to April 16th, a book exhibition “Seeking and finding” dedicated to the 80th anniversary of Aleksey Ragulia runs in the Belarusian literature reading room (auditorium 205).


Aleksey Ragulia is a professor, the tireless researcher of Belarusian literature, culture expert, author of textbooks for secondary and higher school. He has devoted his life to education of national consciousness of youth, igniting their souls with respect and love of people’s spiritual treasures. Under the initiative of the scientist, in 1998 and 2000 the international congresses “The Belarusian Enlightenment: experience of the millenium” was held to become a significant event in the study of Belarusian culture. For a fruitful work in the field of education Aleksey Ragulia is awarded a badge ”Vydatnik asvety” (“The excellent educator”).

The offered exhibition presents the author’s works: books of critics, essays on culture, reviews and articles about both modern literature and classical Belarusian writers – V. Bykov, К. Chorny, I. Melezh and others.

The literary critic is also the author of textbooks and teacher editions for secondary school, manuals on Belarusian literature and culturology.

Also the exhibition includes publications from encyclopedias and articles about Aleksey Ragulia’s life and creative career.

We present the updated virtual project "Stanislaw Moniuszko. Musical romantic from Minsk region": on the 205th anniversary of the composer's birth

On May 5, the 205th anniversary of the birth of Stanislaw Moniuszko (1819–1872), the world-famous composer and conductor, our countryman, who made a significant contribution to the formation of Belarusian musical culture, is celebrated. By this date, the National Library of Belarus has updated the already existing virtual project "Stanislaw Moniuszko. Musical romantic from Minsk region", created five years ago, and now replenished with new unique materials.

A new project of the National Library of Belarus is dedicated to the Great Patriotic War – "Reading newspaper lines with your heart. On the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Belarus from the Nazi invaders."
Every week from January to August 2024, the portal of the National Library publishes materials from newspapers of Soviet Belarus in 1944, reflecting the chronicle of news and events of that time.

On April 25, the National Library of Belarus hosted the opening of the exhibition "Dreams about Belarus", dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Liberation of Belarus from Nazi invaders and the 85th anniversary of the birth of People's Artist of Belarus Vasily Sharangovich.
