A book exhibition timed to the 60th anniversary of Belarusian poet Alies’ Pismenkov runs in the Belarusian literature reading room (205), from 16 February to 25 March.
Having lived a short life (1957–2004) Alexander Pismenkov made a contribution to national literature and left a mark in history. He had started as a mere reporter, then he was a chief editor of the weekly Litaratura i mastactva and worked in the literary magazines Polymja and Vožyk. His writing is remarkable for the understanding of the historical past of the Belarusian people, romanticizing of the native land, the theme of love. After the poet’s death, a number of his talented works continue his life.
The literary heritage of Alies Pismenkov is represented by essays, poems, works for children. The exposition features his poetry collections, verses and tales for children, books of selected works.

The book by A. Zekov Alies’ (2007) with poems about the hero of the day, jokes and friendly parodies will be interesting to the audience.
A separate exhibition section presents the writer’s works translated into different languages.
