A workshop on teaching literacy for second-year students of the Primary Education Department at the M. Tank Belarusian State Pedagogical University was held in the exhibition area “Belarusian ABC: 400 Years of History”, on April 6th.

Julia Belova, the deputy director of secondary school № 16 in Minsk and winner of the contest 2011 “A Capital Teacher for Capital Education”, shared her skills and experience with the teachers-to-be .

In a fascinating and accessible way, the students mastered a variety of interactive forms and methods of teaching literacy under the guidance of the experienced teacher. Everyone had the opportunity to test the basic techniques of developing learning and assess their effectiveness.

The workshop was also attended by the deputy dean of the Primary Education Department, Irina Butorina, and teachers of the M. Tank Belarusian State Pedagogical University.

The attendees got acquainted with the exposition and the best samples of books for primary education, created on the Belarusian soil for four centuries.

We remember the great heroic deed

On May 7, on the eve of Victory Day, the staff of the National Library of Belarus laid flowers at the monument "Grieving Mother" in the Chelyuskintsev Park of Culture and Recreation. During the war of 1941-1943, thousands of dead soldiers, shot residents, as well as those who died during the difficult war years from hunger and disease found their last refuge here in mass graves.
