The VI International Bibliological Conference «Libraries and development of innovation environment for science, education and business» was held at the National Library of Belarus from October 27 to October 29.
The Conference had been prepared by the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Belarus, the Not-for-profit Partnership Library Assembly of Eurasia, Belarusian Library Association and the National Library of Belarus.
The event gathered around 300 delegates from Belarus, Russia, Ukraine, Poland, Lithuania, Moldova, Tajikistan and the USA – leading experts of libraries, museums, archives, publishing houses, educational and scientific organizations, and also representatives of legislature and executive bodies, producers of software and hardware and information production.
Within the framework of the VI International Bibliological Conference «Libraries and development of innovation environment for science, education and business» the following round tables were held: «Libraries in the Republic of Belarus: activity results and development prospects», «Electronic libraries: formation and use» and «The book of Belarus in the context of international bibliological study». Also there were particular subject sections: «The library as a system element of information infrastructure of society», «Library innovatics and the development of science, education and business», «Electronic resources in the system of information development of society». The focus seminar «The Library on the Web: how and with whom are we communicating» had become an important event.
The results of the Conference will promote the further cooperation between cultural, scientific, educational and business institutions and will favor the formation of innovative environment and a sustainable development of society.
