The exhibition “The variety of cultures” will be opened in the gallery “Rakurs” (2nd floor) on September 27.

Every day the facts of thoughtless and willful destruction and robberies, that affect the World Heritage sites, are documentally proved. Shocking photos that we see in the news about the destruction of cultural heritage in Iraq and Syria are a vivid reminder that, there is a threat not only to public safety, but also to its cultural identity in many parts of the world, torn by crisis and war.

The program on the cultural heritage preservation and cultural values protection in different countries has been fulfilled and financed for 35 years by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Germany. More than 2.700 projects in 144 countries had been supported since 1981 till 2015.

The exposition “The variety of cultures” presents 30 posters about projects on cultural objects restoration in 9 countries: Iran, India, Brazil, Syria, Palestine territories, Myanmar, Morocco, Mongolia, Mali. Besides photos, there’re texts which give information about every cultural object on posters.

The organizers of the exhibition project are the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany in the Republic of Belarus and the National Library of Belarus. The collection is prepared by the Federal Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Germany.

The exposition will be opened till October 28, 2016.
