The art exhibition of Margarita Manis "Strolling around the city” opened in the gallery “Atrium” on 22 September.

Going on a "walk to the capital" together with Margarita Manis, do not forget to take you with a romantic mood, and then you will discover a “theatrical” Minsk – the city of feelings, emotions and mysteries. Nemiga Street at sunset, a rainy avenue, and light in the windows of high-rise buildings ... The capital has always inspired the artist to create paintings.

Margarita Manis graduated from Minsk Art School named after Glebov in 1988, but her artistic career began a little later. After college, she worked in the field of advertising services, then studied at the Institute of Modern Knowledge in the specialty "jurisprudence", and then she established and headed a real estate agency. Margarita has always felt that she was missing something very significant in life – her destiny. Fortunately, she was able to put everything in place and start to paint, as it befits the artist.

First Deputy Director of the National Library of Belarus Elena Dolgopolova reminded the audience about a photo exhibition located on the library’s observation deck, where the city is represented with a bird’s-eye view. And the paintings of Margarita Manis show a very different Minsk, cozy and intimate, Elena Dolgopolova said.

In some paintings the city of Minsk is rainy, but not gray, staying sunny and beautiful. As I said, "It’s because the author is a very sunny and kind person", the art critic and founder of the first Belarusian gallery "Brama" Larissa Finkelstein said.

The honored journalist of the Republic of Belarus Svetlana Shidlovskaya congratulated Margarita on the opening of the exhibition. She compared the artist’s pictures with Christmas balls, shining an unusual magical light.

Among the works on display, you can see a picture-dedication to the National Library of Belarus. The "Diamond" is immersed in the quiet dusk, painted in lilac and purple. "When sadness comes I go to the National Library, and its evening light show is always uplifting and charging with good emotions”, Margarita Manis said.

The exhibition “Strolling around the city” runs until 22 October, 2016.
