In National Library of Belarus took place the V-th Youth Delphian games of member states of the CIS in nomination “Folk singing”.




14 young experts in folk singing from 8 member countries of the CIS: Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Moldova, the Russian Federation, and Tajikistan participated in the contest.

There were two age groups of participants: minors (10-15 years of age) — 6 representatives, and elders (16 - 21 years of age) — 8 representatives.
Winners of the games were rewarded with golden, silver, and bronze medals, and diplomas of the CIS Executive Committee and special diplomas for professional skill and national color. All participants received souvenirs.

In the framework of the event the participants made a Library tour.

On May 5, the 205th anniversary of the birth of Stanislaw Moniuszko (1819–1872), the world-famous composer and conductor, our countryman, who made a significant contribution to the formation of Belarusian musical culture, is celebrated. By this date, the National Library of Belarus has updated the already existing virtual project "Stanislaw Moniuszko. Musical romantic from Minsk region", created five years ago, and now replenished with new unique materials.

A new project of the National Library of Belarus is dedicated to the Great Patriotic War – "Reading newspaper lines with your heart. On the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Belarus from the Nazi invaders."
Every week from January to August 2024, the portal of the National Library publishes materials from newspapers of Soviet Belarus in 1944, reflecting the chronicle of news and events of that time.
