On December 28, 2017 the gala concert "Around the World on the New Year's Day" for the National Library of Belarus employees was held in the conference hall of the National Library of Belarus.

At the end of the year each person not only summarizes it, but also always makes wishes. Despite the fact that it is the winter on the calendar, many people are dreaming about vacation, warm summer and mysterious distant countries.

"They say that during the New Year, whatever they wish, everything always happens, everything always comes true!" It’s true! The National Library employees could go on an exciting round-the-world tour in the company of charismatic presenters-travelers.

Roman Motulsky, the director, congratulated colleagues on the New Year and gave a start to the tour. Than everybody could visit a hot Brazil carnival together with the show ballet Maldiva.

Right on the course there was Mexico, a country of tropical jungles and deserts, known for endless soap operas and Mariachi orchestras. Two charming guys in sombrero from the musical collective Mariachi welcomed the travelers by true Mexican songs.

Than the audience could enjoy the melody of the French language in romantic France. It is pleasant to note that Lyudmila Gorbacheva and Lyudmila Kurilina, our two famous Frenchwomen are the library employees, they acquainted the audience with the subtleties of the French style and the mood of the French chanson.

Then the route ran through Scotland. The colors of this mysterious country were presented by the pipers of the PiobROCK Duo. Hospitable Georgia greeted the audience with open arms, traditional toasts and the Georgian dance ensemble "Sunny Georgia".

To touch the culture and traditions of the eastern countries, the audience could go to China and Vietnam. Cui Wan Hao, student of the Belarusian State Academy of Music, performed the Chinese song The Kind Motherland, and the National Library employees performed a real Vietnamese dance with fans.

Of course no one New Year can’t be without Ded Moroz and Snegurochka. They congratulated the audience by a funny song and wished to have great happiness and faith in miracles. At the end of the concert, the performance of the art group Belarusy became a true gift.
