On September 23–25 in Geneva (Switzerland) took place a consultation between the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) and the National Library of Belarus (NLB) on creation and functioning of a depository of WIPO Library at the National Library of Belarus.


Chief-librarian of the Information-Analytical Department at the National Library of Belarus O.I. Voronetskaya participated in the consultation on behalf of NLB.

Head of the Outreach Services Section at WIPO Library Omar Katbi on behalf of the World Intellectual Property Organization signed the Memorandum of Understanding. At the consultation the NLB’s resources to be used for informing users on WIPO’s activities were presented.

Considering the fact that NLB made an important contribution in the field of lawful use of copyrighted materials, it was decided to hold the joint international seminar “Practical aspects of use of copyrighted materials in libraries in modern conditions. Legal regulation problems”. The seminar takes place on October 20, 2010.

On April 24, 2024, at the International Scientific and Practical Conference "Rumyantsev Readings-2024" in Moscow, Olga Polunchenko, chief bibliographer of the Department of reference and Information Services, presented a report "The role of Adam Shanyavsky in organizing the library fund of the Nesvizh County School (the last quarter of the XVIII century)."
