On September 28, within the framework of the visit to the Republic of Belarus, Minister of Culture of Lithuania Arunas Gelunas visited the National Library of Belarus.
Mr. Gelunas had arrived in Belarus by invitation of the Minister of Culture of the Republic of Belarus. The Lithuanian Minister’s visit schedule included a meeting with the Minister of Culture of the Republic of Belarus Pavel Latushko, a visiting to historical sites of Belarus – old towns Lida, Mir and Nieswiez with castles, and a visit to the National Library of Belarus.
At the National Library of Belarus director Roman Motulsky welcomed the guests. The Lithuanian delegation made a tour of the Library and got acquainted with the activities, architectural features, equipment and information resources of the intellectual depository of Belarus. Members of the delegation ascended the Observation platform and admired the bird’s eye view of Minsk and the suburbs.
At the Book Museum the guests saw the collection of rare editions from the stacks of the National Library of Belarus. Mr. Gelunas wrote a memorable entry to the Guests of Honor Book.
During the visit to the National Library of Belarus Minister of Culture of Lithuania Arunas Gelunas and Minister of Culture of the Republic of Belarus Pavel Latushko gave an interview to journalists.
