On January 30, the National Library of Belarus hosted an expanded meeting of the Directorate on the results of 2023 and the tasks for 2024.
Vadzim Hihin, Director General of the National Library of Belarus, spoke at the event. He summed up the results, expressed gratitude to the team for their well-coordinated work and defined plans and tasks for the current year.
The speakers of the meeting were Irina Karpovich, Head of the Department of Culture and Folk Art of the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Belarus, Alla Sheremetyeva, head of the information center, Radmila Bukach, head of the socio-cultural center.
The participants discussed the prospects for the development of the virtual reading room of the National Library of Belarus, new trends in socio-cultural activities.
The ceremony of awarding employees for success in their work was held in a solemn atmosphere. Ekaterina Voronko, a leading bibliographer of the Scientific Research Department of Bibliography of the information center, was awarded a diploma from the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Belarus for her high professionalism and significant contribution to the development and popularization of national culture. For his personal contribution to the introduction of innovative technologies into the practice of libraries in Belarus, the gratitude of the Chairman of the Presidium of the National Academy of Sciences was announced to Vyacheslav Brichkovsky, head of the sector for support of the information support system for innovation activities of the Department of Library and Information Technologies of the Information Center.
The Certificate of Honour of the National Library of Belarus was awarded to Olga Dorozhko, head of the sector for organizing the work of the observation deck of the department of excursion and methodological work of the socio-cultural center, restorer of archival and library materials of the 5th category of the restoration sector of the Department of restoration and conservation of library documents of the Center for digitization and preservation of library documents, Natalia Dragun, leading energy engineer of the department of maintenance of electrical equipment and elevators Irina Dudkina, Oksana Kazachenko, Head of the sector of socio-cultural projects of the Department of Public Relations of the Socio-cultural Center, Head of the sector of administration of system software, information security and LAN maintenance of the Information and Computing Department Andrey Matsko, leading methodologist of the sound maintenance sector- and lighting equipment of the department of cultural and entertainment activities of the socio-cultural center Oleg Sivy, engineer for control and measuring devices and automation equipment of the 2nd category of the Department of automated process control system Galina Snitsarenko.
