Students of the Faculty of Pre-University Training of the Belarusian State Economic University visited the tour "Outstanding People of the Motherland" where they learned about Francysk Skaryna's legacy.

Young people from China, Iran, Iraq and other countries have not been long in Belarus and they are just beginning to get acquainted with our country, our culture and our language. And we are very pleased that among the names of famous Belarusians our first printer Francysk Skaryna was one of the first names they learned.

As part of the tour, guests were introduced to the architecture, decoration of the library, the system of ordering and delivering literature. They saw the original books of Francysk Skaryna in the Book Museum and other rare editions and manuscripts from the collections of the National Library of Belarus.

Part of the tour was in the form of an interactive class, during which sightseers were able to look through books dedicated to the first printer, facsimile copies of the books of the Bible of Francysk Skaryna, read pieces by Belarusian authors in their native language, see books published in their homeland. At the end of the tour, the guests ascended to the Observation Deck to admire Minsk from a bird's-eye view.

We hope that we have been able to contribute to the difficult process of adaptation of young people in the new country and are waiting for them in the National Library of Belarus as readers.

We also invite you to the "Outstanding People of the Motherland" tours on the legacy of Yanka Kupala, Jakub Kolas, Maksim Bagdanovich, Kandrat Krapiva, Uladzimir Karatkevich, Vasil Bykov, Janka Mawr, Mihas Zaretski, Francysk Skaryna.

Applications are accepted from 10.00 to 18.00 from Tuesday to Sunday.
