An annual meeting of the Council of Libraries of Belarus on Information Interaction was held within the framework of the 7th International Congress "Library as a Cultural Phenomenon" on October 21.
The meeting of the council members was chaired by Mr Roman Motulsky, Director General of the National Library of Belarus. The meeting was attended by heads of republican scientific, regional libraries and libraries of leading institutions of higher education.
The heads of the libraries discussed a number of issues on the implementation of corporate projects: a subscription to licensed electronic information resources through the Virtual Reading Room of the National Library of Belarus, the development of regional consolidated electronic catalogues, the creation of a database “Librarianship in Belarus”, the formation of the State Register of Book Monuments of the Republic of Belarus, modernization publication of the bibliographic bulletin "New books of Belarus".
