IV Minsk international digital art festival “Terra Nova”

On 29 November, at 5 p.m. an opening ceremony of IV Minsk international digital art festival “Terra Nova” takes place at the gallery Rakurs.


The festival “Terra Nova” is held with the purpose of promotion of new technologies used in the fine arts, development of computer graphics and multimedia-arts in Belarus, activation of creative contacts between artists of different countries, and attraction of new generation of authors to art creation. “Terra Nova” is a convenient experimental field where new existential senses of creativity can manifest.

For the fourth time, the works of art performed in digital format will be on display at the exhibition areas of the National Library of Belarus. The program of the festival includes exhibitions of digital photoes and computer graphics. During a month video viewings will be held in the gallery Labyrinth and the Educational technologies hall of the National Library of Belarus.

Within the framework of the festival a competition will be held. An authoritative jury will consider works in nominations “Digital photo”, “Computer graphics”, “Video-art”, “Music video”, “Animation”, “ Advertising trailer”, “Short meter”.

The festival structure includes three programs – competitive, viewing and guest.

Among participants there are representatives of Estonia, Russia, Ukraine, Belarus. More than 100 works of art are on display.

The exhibition will run till January 23rd, 2013.

On May 5, the 205th anniversary of the birth of Stanislaw Moniuszko (1819–1872), the world-famous composer and conductor, our countryman, who made a significant contribution to the formation of Belarusian musical culture, is celebrated. By this date, the National Library of Belarus has updated the already existing virtual project "Stanislaw Moniuszko. Musical romantic from Minsk region", created five years ago, and now replenished with new unique materials.

A new project of the National Library of Belarus is dedicated to the Great Patriotic War – "Reading newspaper lines with your heart. On the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Belarus from the Nazi invaders."
Every week from January to August 2024, the portal of the National Library publishes materials from newspapers of Soviet Belarus in 1944, reflecting the chronicle of news and events of that time.
