On October 26, the library hosted a meeting of the 2nd International Network Project "ChteniePRoDvizhenie” (“Promoting Reading”).
The purpose of the event is the development of reading culture through the formation of motivation and sustained interest in reading, expanding the reader's outlook, stimulating personal and intellectual development through the use of the modern information and communication environment.
Today, all conditions have been created in the Republic of Belarus to support active reading of children and adults. The activity of writers, journalists, representatives of philological and pedagogical communities, public associations is aimed at updating and developing the reading experience of the Belarusians.
At the sessions, the project organizers discussed the problems of attracting the attention of all readers to modern literature, traditions and innovations in the modern literary process, and educational aspects of reading.
Alexander Susha, the deputy director for research and publishing, drew attention to the research work carried out by the National Library to study the interest in reading of various groups of citizens of Belarus. He stressed that the number of people reading did not decrease, and children and adults still loved books, only the information carrier was changing over time.
The event included a presentation of the Internet resource “KNIGASVET”, where readers, authors and publishers will be able to share reader experience, discuss interesting books, and expand ideas about modern Belarusian literature.
During the forum, the exhibition “Contemporary Literature of Belarus: ProSlovo” ran, where books and children's creative works were presented. Also there was a creative meeting of readers with writers of Belarus.
At the end of the event, awards were presented to the winners of the 2nd International Network Project “ChteniePRoDvizhenie”.
