On February 20, 2008, in the conference-hall of National Library of Belarus took place a concert “Serve the Fatherland – the Duty of a Soldier” dedicated to the Fatherland Defender’s Day.


The event was organized by National Library of Belarus and Administration of Minsk Pervomaysky district. Cadets of the Military Academy of the republic of Belarus, veterans of the Great Patriotic War, soldiers’ mothers, soldiers internationalists, and representatives of different enterprises of Minsk Pervomaysky district participated in the event.



The guests enjoyed performances of students of the Academy of Arts, artists of a producer cetre SPAMASH, the Armed Forces of the Republic of Belarus Academic Troupe, the Military Academy of the Republic of Belarus brass band, band “Mekhanika”, pupils of the school # 121, Evgeny Kryzhanovsky, the director of Minsk theatre of satire and humour “Khristofor”, Nicolai Skorikov, the honoured artist of the Republic of Belarus, and the Military Academy of the Republic of Belarus vocal band.

We present the updated virtual project "Stanislaw Moniuszko. Musical romantic from Minsk region": on the 205th anniversary of the composer's birth

On May 5, the 205th anniversary of the birth of Stanislaw Moniuszko (1819–1872), the world-famous composer and conductor, our countryman, who made a significant contribution to the formation of Belarusian musical culture, is celebrated. By this date, the National Library of Belarus has updated the already existing virtual project "Stanislaw Moniuszko. Musical romantic from Minsk region", created five years ago, and now replenished with new unique materials.

On April 25, the National Library of Belarus hosted the opening of the exhibition "Dreams about Belarus", dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Liberation of Belarus from Nazi invaders and the 85th anniversary of the birth of People's Artist of Belarus Vasily Sharangovich.
