Another stage of the charity action organized by the National Library of Belarus took place on December 7th.


The Library’s employees together with the representative of the publishing house Pachatkovaya Shkola have visited the social and pedagogical center-orphanage of Pervomaisky district of Minsk, the orphanage No. 3 of the Moskovsky district of Minsk and have donated more than 300 copies of children’s, developing, educational and methodical literature.

The transferring of publications took place within the framework of the charity action The Book is the source of wisdom, knowledge and science ..., which is taking place throughout the year 2017 as part of a national celebration of the 500th anniversary of Belarusian printing.

The set of books was complete by the National Library of Belarus together with the well-known publishers Belarus, Mastackaya litaratura, Pravo i ekonomika, Popurri, Vladimir Grevtsov’s Agency, as well as the bookselling companies Krasiko-print, Tregross-Info, MobilBook, MET, BookLineGroup, Eureka-M, Akademicheskaya kniga, Belkniga, Helton, Piter-М, and also by private donators.

On April 24, 2024, at the International Scientific and Practical Conference "Rumyantsev Readings-2024" in Moscow, Olga Polunchenko, chief bibliographer of the Department of reference and Information Services, presented a report "The role of Adam Shanyavsky in organizing the library fund of the Nesvizh County School (the last quarter of the XVIII century)."
