On 10 November, the employees of the National Library of Belarus donated to the Children’s Town of Lenin District in Minsk 170 copies of fiction, children’s books, educational literature, manuals and guidebooks.


The donation of books is part of the charitable campaign "The book is a source of wisdom, knowledge and science...", which is carried out in 2017, within the framework of the national celebration of the 500th anniversary of Belarusian book-printing.

The set of books was prepared by the well-known domestic publishers Belarus, Mastackaya litaratura, Pravo i ekonomika, Popurri, Vladimir Grevtsov’s Agency, as well as the bookselling companies Krasiko-print, Tregross-Info, MobilBook, MET, BookLineGroup, Eureka-M, Akademicheskaya kniga, Belkniga, Helton, Piter-М, and also private donators.

Tthe Children’s Town administrators express sincere gratitude to the staff of the National Library for their aid in the acquisition of new publications.

On May 5, the 205th anniversary of the birth of Stanislaw Moniuszko (1819–1872), the world-famous composer and conductor, our countryman, who made a significant contribution to the formation of Belarusian musical culture, is celebrated. By this date, the National Library of Belarus has updated the already existing virtual project "Stanislaw Moniuszko. Musical romantic from Minsk region", created five years ago, and now replenished with new unique materials.

A new project of the National Library of Belarus is dedicated to the Great Patriotic War – "Reading newspaper lines with your heart. On the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Belarus from the Nazi invaders."
Every week from January to August 2024, the portal of the National Library publishes materials from newspapers of Soviet Belarus in 1944, reflecting the chronicle of news and events of that time.
