On July 23rd, a ceremony of donation of a precious book collection “Ikonoteka Valvasoriana” of Slovenian researcher and scientist Janez Valvasor was held in the National Library of Belarus.
The event was timed to the 20th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Belarus and Slovenia and the Year of Book proclaimed by the Decree of President of the Republic of Belarus A.G. Lukashenko.
In the solemn ceremony participated: Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs of Belarus Elena Kupchina, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Slovenia in the Russian Federation (pluralistically in the Republic of Belarus) Ada Filip-Slivnik, Academician of the Academy of Sciences and Arts of Slovenia Bostjan Zeks, Deputy Minister of Culture of the Republic of Belarus Tadeush Srtuzhetsky, First Deputy Director of the National Library of Belarus for User Service and Ideology Elena Dolgopolova.
Thanks to financial support of RIKO Company and its General Manager Janez Skrabec, the stocks of the National Library of Belarus replenished with 17 volumes of “Ikonoteka Valvasoriana”.
The solemn ceremony is an important step on the way to the rapprochement and strengthening of traditional friendly relations between Belarusian and Slovenian peoples, and development of cultural cooperation of two countries.
