A book exhibition "The talented scientists and zealous researcher” timed to the 75th birthday of Belarusian literary critic Lydia Savik runs at the Belarusian Literature Reading Room (room 205) from February 25 to March 13.
The exhibits reveal the many-sided research activities of critic, culturologist, academician at the International Academy of Sciences of Eurasia Lydia Savik. The exhibition section “Study of Belarusian and Russian literature” presents the author’s books “The Questions of Modern Belarusian “Country” Prose” (1977), “The Sense of Time: The Country Theme in the Modern Belarusian Prose” (1981), “May the Warmth of the Earth Never Turn Cold” (1984), “Under the Peaceful Skies of the Motherland: The Essays of B. Sanchenko’s Works” (1986), “Alone Between the Castles: the Literary Portrait of Olga Ipatova” (2003) and others.
The section includes as well the author’s publications in journals and various authors’ books, and also her introductory articles, afterwords and commentaries to the books by S. Grakhovsky, B. Mikulich, А. Osipenko, О. Ipatova, А. Rybak and others.
Lydia Savik prepared texts and edited collected works of Y. Nemansky, N. Arsenyeva, S. Baranovykh, B. Mikulich and others.
The next exhibition section “Works dedicated to Belarusian literature and persons abroad” presents Lydia Savik’s books “The Return: B.U. Kit’s Biography” (1993), “The Space of the Belarusian: The Biography of B.U. Kit, Educator, Scientist and Patriot” (1996, 1998), “The Chosen Ones: The Belarusian Literary Abroad” (2001), “The History of Belarusian Literature of the ХХ Century” in 4 volumes, and also articles about Z. and V. Kipyel, М. Sednev, P. Sych, М. Kovyl, А. Sakovich and others.
Publications about Lydia Savik’s life and career are displayed at the exhibition section “Life and creative work”.
The exposition houses more than 80 documents and photography of the author.
