From February 17th to February 28th, in Belarusian literature reading room 205 is open a book exhibition “The poet’s sincere song” dedicated to the 90th anniversary of Piotr Prikhodko.


Piotr Prikhodko, the Belarusian poet, translator and laureate of A. Kuleshov Literary prize (1985), began his literary career as a poet-warrior.

The poet’s destiny had led him on front roads through the whole Great Patriotic War. The theme of the unforgettable events of the wartime runs all through the books of the poet.

The exhibition presents the literary heritage of the author: books of collected poems, children’s books and poems in periodicals.

The separate sections of the exhibition are dedicated to the activity of Piotr Prikhodko as a translator. Besides there are works by the poet translated into other languages.

The section “The roads of life” is dedicated to the author’s life and creative activity.

On April 24, 2024, at the International Scientific and Practical Conference "Rumyantsev Readings-2024" in Moscow, Olga Polunchenko, chief bibliographer of the Department of reference and Information Services, presented a report "The role of Adam Shanyavsky in organizing the library fund of the Nesvizh County School (the last quarter of the XVIII century)."
