The National Library of Belarus offers a thematic book exhibition “The national treasures”, timed to the Year of Culture in Belarus.
In our country each new year is traditionally devoted to a particular theme, to which the State and society pay close attention. Thus, according to the Presidential Decree, 2016 is declared the Year of Culture. This year considerable attention is paid to activities in the field of arts and culture, which is one of the main means of patriotic education of children and young adults.
The exposition “The national treasures” presents about 200 documents: albums, encyclopedias, reference books, monographs and memoirs about Belarusian actors, film directors, singers, musicians and artists. The reader will earn about Belarusian architectural monuments, theaters, the features and achievements of national music, painting, sculpture and cinema.
The exposition includes the thematic sections as follow:
- The patrons of Belarusian culture;
- Folklore and people’s arts and crafts;
- Theatrical and cinema arts;
- Fine arts;
- The musical culture of Belarus;
- Museum activities;
- Libraries and librarianship in Belarus.
The exhibition is located on the 3rd floor of the circular corridor and will run till 31 December, 2016.
