Dear friends! We invite you to a book exhibition “Summer, a Time for Journeys”, which runs in the reading room of the Interlibrary Loan and Document Delivery Department (room 164), from June 4 to August 31.

Here comes the most welcome, happy and unforgettable time! A time of warm sun, relaxing lying on the beach and swimming in the sea, walking in the forest and hiking in the mountains, new acquaintances and joyful events, countless experiences, delight, pleasant memories and vivid photos that will warm us through the winter.

Most often in the summer we are rediscovering some long-known places, or are going to get acquainted with new countries, their history, way of life and nature. The cultures of different peoples of the world have surprisingly a lot of interesting and unusual things.

For example, did you know that: in England people speak more than 300 languages; chewing gum was not invented in the United States as everyone thinks, but in Germany; the very first subway was built in London; the tradition to kiss a lady's hand still exists in Poland; three of the six world’s largest monasteries, called laurels, are located in Ukraine?

The wise Dalai Lama advised us, once a year, to go where we have never been.

So, if you have not yet selected the travel route, welcome to the book exhibition "Summer, a Time for Journeys". Here you will learn many interesting things about the sights of Belarus and other countries, and may decide to visit one of them.

The book exposition is supplemented with a collection of souvenirs from different countries.

Exhibition schedule: Monday – Thursday: 10.00–18.00; Friday: 10.00–17.00.

Entrance to the exhibition is available by the library ticket or ticket of the library's social and cultural center.
