From January 15, 2009 to March 2, 2009, in the National Library of Belarus (2nd floor, circular hall) is open a book exhibition “Religions of the World”.




The exhibition is dedicated to world religions and national beliefs of different peoples, countries and epochs.

The aim of the exhibition is to review the main religious doctrines of different countries and peoples from primitive beliefs to the world religions: heathenism, Christianity, Judaism, Hinduism, Buddhism, and Islam. At the exposition are displayed over 150 books: encyclopedias, works by scientists, and books about the most eminent religious monuments. There are presented as well materials revealing the modern confessional policy in Belarus.

We invite to the exhibition everyone who is interested in religion and its role in the history of peoples.

We present the updated virtual project "Stanislaw Moniuszko. Musical romantic from Minsk region": on the 205th anniversary of the composer's birth

On May 5, the 205th anniversary of the birth of Stanislaw Moniuszko (1819–1872), the world-famous composer and conductor, our countryman, who made a significant contribution to the formation of Belarusian musical culture, is celebrated. By this date, the National Library of Belarus has updated the already existing virtual project "Stanislaw Moniuszko. Musical romantic from Minsk region", created five years ago, and now replenished with new unique materials.

Dreams about Belarus at the National Library

On April 25, the National Library of Belarus hosted the opening of the exhibition "Dreams about Belarus", dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Liberation of Belarus from Nazi invaders and the 85th anniversary of the birth of People's Artist of Belarus Vasily Sharangovich.
