The name of Belarusian historian, archaeologist, ethnographer, editor and publisher, ethnographer, publicist , Adam Kirkor, is well known to all who are interested in the past of Belarus and Lithuania. This educated and ambitious man left a huge number of publications. In archives there are a lot of his unpublished manuscripts and letters on scientific topics to the famous scientists from different countries.

Some special works are dedicated to Adam Kirkor, but his miscellaneous activities aren’t still fully explored and are waiting for their researcher. Therefore, each document has a very great interest.

At the exhibition there are about 40 exhibits that highlight the personality of Adam Kirkor and his scientific and publishing activities. There are encyclopedic, scientific, literary and artistic publications, magazines, as well as illustrative material.

The copies published in his lifetime are especially valuable: third volume of richly illustrated publication "Picturesque Russia" dedicated to the Lithuanian and Belarusian Polesye (1882), bibliographical notes on the third volume of "Picturesque Russia " (1884), the Lviv editions of ethnographic essays "Słowianie nadbałtyccy: zarys etnograficzno-mitologiczne" (1876),"Bazylika Litewska" (1886).

The non-periodical collection on local history theme "Teka Wilenska" (1857) will attract a lot of interest of visitors. Compiled by Adam Krikor (under the pseudonym Jan ze Śliwina) it has included the historical article about Minsk written by his friend and colleague Ludwig Kondratovich (Vladislav Syrokomlya) and his own cantata "Francis of Assisi".

We hope that the exhibition will be a notable cultural event and attract the attention of lovers of native history and culture, as well as all interested in the study of local history and the rich publishing heritage of our sincere and devoted compatriot Belarusian land.
