From 13 September to 31 December, an exhibition "Life in poetry", dedicated to the 100th anniversary of national poet of Belarus Maksim Tank (1912–1995), runs at the National Library of Belarus (2nd floor, circular corridor).


Maxim Tank (real name – Evgeny Skurko) is a classic of the national literature, an original artist with a vivid word, unique imagery and language. He is a poet of European level and scale.

The exhibition includes about 200 works of Maxim Tank and materials about his life and work. The exposition is opened with the writer’s book collections: the latest 13-volume collection, developed by Yanka Kupala Institute of Literature of the National Academy of Sciences. It became the basis of this six-volume collection of essays which is the last lifetime edition of the poet's creative heritage. Next the books of Maxim Tank placed in a chronological order by decade. His works created for children as well as translations of his works into other languages are located in a separate section.

The last section “Biography, which is in my song and me, is the one” is devoted to the scientific understanding of life and Maxim Tank’s creative laboratory. Maxim Tank is extremely complex person, and therefore his life attach a great interest among historians of the Belarusian literature and national culture in general, because of he always worked hard to improve his works, as well as he is the author of his time, which evolved along with society, people and history.

Adam Shanyavsky and the library fund of the Nesvizh county school (the last quarter of the XVIII century)

On April 24, 2024, at the International Scientific and Practical Conference "Rumyantsev Readings-2024" in Moscow, Olga Polunchenko, chief bibliographer of the Department of reference and Information Services, presented a report "The role of Adam Shanyavsky in organizing the library fund of the Nesvizh County School (the last quarter of the XVIII century)."
