The book exhibition dedicated to World Safer Internet Day is hold from January 15 to March 26 in the hall of legal information (room 207b).

The World Safer Internet Day was established in January 2004. It is celebrated annually on the second Tuesday in February. The idea was initiated by the European Commission and supported by the non-profit organizations European SchoolNet and Insafe. It was quickly spread among Internet users and government institutions. The Insafe NPO became the main coordinator of the event.

This year the Safer Internet Day will be celebrated by more than 130 countries around the world. The UN News Center reported that by the end of 2016, 3.5 billion people or 47% of the world's population had become Internet users. The purpose of this Day is to inform people about the responsible and safe Internet use.

Some educational events, conferences and seminars are held on this day. Participants of public organizations talk about different ways to protect personal data. The event is mentioned and different materials on this topic are published in the media. Thematic programs and films are broadcast on TV. They communicate different ideas to improve the ways of World Wide Web use, security projects, instructions and rules.

Almost everyone is aware of the dangers facing the global network users. The Internet represents a particular virtual world with its own laws, criminals and those who guard it in order. It is inseparable with the real world, that's why the issue of the Internet security is getting more and more actual every day.

A Safer Internet Day exists not only for professionals. It is an occasion for parents to think about how their children are protected from all of these, how the Internet affects them and what can be done to make this impact only positive.

The exposition contains about 90 documents: books, brochures, periodicals, abstracts of dissertations.

The exhibition includes the following topics:

·       Problems of international legal regulation of the Internet;

·       Constitutional guarantees of freedom of speech and the right of access to information on the Internet in the Republic of Belarus;

·       National security of states in the information sphere;

·       Civil law regulation of relations in the Internet;

·       Copyright regulation of the global information network operation;

·       Legal protection of domain names.

The exhibition is intended to Internet users, professionals working in this field, as well as lawyers related to the legal regulation of information relations.
