The annual book-illustrative exhibition is devoted to work communities and figures of culture, arts and clergy who won in 2017 the highest awards for outstanding achievements in the humanitarian sphere.

15 awards have been granted, according to Decrees of the President of the Republic of Belarus No 1 “On Conferring the Award of the President of the Republic of Belarus For Spiritual Revival for the Year 2017” and No 2 “On Conferring the Special Prize of the President of the Republic of Belarus to Figures of Culture and Arts for the Year 2017”.

The exposition reflects the achievements of the state awards winners and includes books, catalogs, booklets, articles for periodicals and graphic documents from the library stocks, representing their field of activity.

The conferment of the Award of the President of the Republic of Belarus “For Spiritual Revival” for the facsimile reconstruction and promotion of Francysk Skaryna’s book heritage has become a happy event for the staff of the National Library of Belarus. The fruit of their five-year work, the complete collection of Francysk Skaryna’s books, is now on display. The publishing project The Book Heritage of Francysk Skaryna was carried out with the support of Belvneshekonombank.

In 2018, the Head of State has also presented awards for strong support for humanitarian ideals and charity; the strengthening of the family ties and protection of motherhood and childhood; for social aid for children with disabilities and other citizens; for a significant personal contribution to the preservation of spiritual values and traditions.

Credit has been given to the achievements in the field of theater, music and fine arts, as well as folk art and exhibition activities.

The conferment of the highest awards and the annual celebration in honor of the laureates is a sign of the State’s attention to the questions of forming a healthy spiritual atmosphere in society and the development of Belarusian culture and arts.

The book-illustrative exhibition Great Talent, Great Work, Great Heart runs from 17 January to 17 April, 2018, on the second floor exhibition area.
