From October 7, 2008, to November 25, 2008, in the National Library of Belarus (the second floor, circular hall) is open a book exhibition “Belarusian national culture” timed to the Day of Cultural Workers.
A special program “Safekeeping and development of the culture of the Republic of Belarus in 2006 — 2010” says: “Strategic aim of the State policy in the field of culture is the development and effectual use of cultural potential of the country, ensuring of a successive development of Belarusian culture along with the support of cultural innovations”.
The exposition consists of the following sections:
- Belarusian culture today;
- Cultural values of the country;
- People’s culture of Belarus;
- Guardians of Belarusian culture.
At the exhibition are displayed over 100 materials: books and electronic publications, materials of international practical conferences, analytical materials on the activity of cultural institutions and organizations, booklets of international festivals, reference and encyclopedic publications on people’s culture of Belarus, history of Belarusian art, cinema, and theatre, textbooks on culturology and management in the field of culture. In a particular section of the exhibition are displayed materials dedicated to the eminent cultural workers of Belarus.
