On 23 March, the art exhibition “Plein Air 2016” opened in the gallery “Panorama” (22nd floor). More than 50 paintings of students of the Minsk State Art College named after A. Glebov are on display.

Performed in various techniques, the paintings reflect the emotions and impressions the young people got during their journey to Belarusian towns and abroad: Nesvizh, Polotsk, Brest, St. Petersburg, the Tatras etc.

In June 2016, the young artists took part in the Third International Student Open-air "On the motherland of I. Kramskoy", which was held in the city of Voronezh, and in August they joined the international cultural and social project "The Summer Creative School for Gifted Children and Youth" in Astrakhan. Students of the Minsk State Art College named after A. Glebov became the first representatives of the Republic of Belarus who took part in this project.

First deputy director of the National Library of Belarus Elena Dolgopolova recollected the exposition timed to the 60th anniversary of the Minsk State Art College named after A. Glebov, which had run in the National Library of Belarus 10 years ago. Then followed other exhibitions of art students, and each of them was a nice gift for users and guests of the library.

Gregory Sitnitsa, the chairman of the Belarusian Union of Artists, congratulated the art students on this significant event in their creative career. “After a time, when you grow up to become professional artists, your memories of these plein-airs will inspire and charge you with new creative forces," the experienced artist told his young colleagues.

“The plein air exhibition is most emotional, advantageous and truthful”, director of the Minsk State Art College named after A. Glebov Alexander Shantarovich said. He presented diplomas to art teachers-participants of the last year’s plein-air and shared projects for the current year. And there is much work ahead!

”This year the college celebrates its 70th anniversary, and a number of celebratory art events are planned. The today’s exhibition is part of them”, director of the art gallery "University of Culture" Pavel Sapotko said.

Guest plein-airs form a common art space that unites artists from all over the world. Once again we are convinced – art unites! The young artists’ paintings will be on display till 23 April, 2017.

From March 24, 2017, the exhibition is paid, the entrance fee is equal to the ticket price of the Observation deck.

The exhibition ending date may be changed.
