On January 23 will host the opening of the second exhibition from the series "Dawn of Liberation is Breaking Over Belarus", dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the liberation of the country from Nazi invaders.
The exposition will present the chronicle of the liberation from January to March 1944 in a book-documentary series -facts and participants of the Kalinkovichi–Mozyr (January 8 – February 8) and Rogachevo–Zhlobin (February 21–26) offensive operations of the Belarusian Front. The result of the operations, which continued with short interruptions since September 1943, was the liberation of 2 out of 10 regional, 36 out of 188 district centres and about 1/5 of the territory of Belarus. Subsequently, months of preparation for the large-scale Belarusian offensive operation Bagration began, which we will continue to consider in the third part of the cycle.
Within the framework of the event, Dmitry Chernyavsky, a journalist of the Gomel Vedomosti newspaper, will present several unique publications dedicated to the memory and history of the daily life of veterans-heroes-liberators of Belarus. Among them is the documentary and artistic work "Grigory Ilyin's Battle roads, or 300 days to the West", which panoramically shows the chronicle of liberation from September 23, 1943 to July 28, 1944, and the documentary photobook "Through the Mouths of Front-line Soldiers". The books are united by the long-term work of Dmitry, the editorial staff of the newspaper and Gomel photographers, which they undertook for the 70th anniversary of the liberation of our country from the Nazis.
