The launch of the moving photo exhibition "National Library of Belarus" took place on December 13 at the Grodno Regional Scientific Library named after E.F. Karski.
The photo project, which celebrates the institution's 100th birthday, describes the current National Library as the biggest information and sociocultural hub of the nation and a special repository of important historical records. Major Belarusian cities including Brest, Vitebsk, Gomel, and Orsha have already been able to introduce their citizens to the exhibition.
24 pieces by well-known Belarusian photographers open a new chapter in the history of the nation's main library, which celebrates its centennial, and present the new structure in the most vivid and noteworthy fragments, as well as new maintenance technologies, inventive interior design solutions, and works of fine and applied art.
The event was attended by the Deputy Director General of the National Library of Belarus Viktar Pshybytka. In his remarks of welcome, he thanked the Grodno Regional Scientific Library's administration for the chance to inform Grodno people about the centennial history of the "diamond of knowledge" and its beautiful architecture of the structure.
