On March 28, 2024, the National Library of Belarus hosted a meeting of the Board of the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Belarus.

In 2024, the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Belarus reviewed applications and presentation materials on granting the status of "Cultural Capital of the Year" in 2025 to cities such as Postavy, Soligorsk, Ivanovo, Rogachev and Mosty. Following the results of the board of the department, it was decided to assign the status of "Cultural Capital of the Year" in 2025 to the city of Ivanovo.


During the presentation of the applicant cities, the positive experience of organizing and holding cultural events, the availability of a developed socio-cultural infrastructure, the systematic work on preserving tangible and intangible historical and cultural values, the preservation of traditions, customs, folk art festivals, the availability of new cultural projects planned for implementation within the framework of the republican campaign "Cultural Capital of the Year" were evaluated.
