Pupils of the national art school at the National Art Museum of Belarus visited the international exhibition "Belarus and the Bible".
Professor Scott Carol welcomed the young artists. He told them many interesting things about manuscript history. Then they received as a gift his "The Big Book of Adventure."
In the Book Museum, the pupils saw the ancient artifacts, such as manuscripts found in caves, monasteries and even masked mummies, and learned about the history of writing systems and book production, the Printing Revolution, a large demand for the Bible and translations of the Scriptures into local languages.
Having visited the exhibition, the pupils concluded that book design was an important component of the biblical tradition. Fine arts give the text beauty and shape, and often make it easier to read.
