On 26 April, 2012, a training seminar “Copyright and Related rights” for representatives of Belarusian libraries was held at the National Library of Belarus.

The training was arranged by the Council of Libraries of Belarus for Information Interaction, the National Centre of Intellectual Property and the National Library of Belarus.

Representatives of republican and university libraries of Belarus took part in the seminar. During the training they learned the questions of national and international copyright system, got acquainted with the practical aspects of implementation of the new edition of the Law of the Republic of Belarus “About the Copyright and Related rights” in library activity, and the international experience in cooperation with authors.


Founder of Pharmaceutical Sciences in Belarus

June 21 marks the 280th anniversary of the birth of the famous French scientist-encyclopaedist, doctor of medicine, professor Jean Emmanuel Gilibert (1741-1814), who is rightfully considered the founder of pharmaceutical sciences in Belarus. He created and for several years headed the first higher medical institution in the territory of modern Belarus – the Hrodna Medical Academy.
